Team St Lucia at CARIFTA Games

St Lucia’s team of six athletes and three officials are presently in Bermuda, attending the 41st edition of the CARIFTA Games taking place from April 6-9.
The only overseas athlete on the team high jumper Jeannelle Scheper who attends South Carolina University, joined the team in Bermuda on Friday. The other athletes on the squad are: Talberc Poleon, Under-20 Boys (200m, 400m); Marbeq Edgar, Under-20 Boys (800m, 1500m); Samara Edward, Under-17 Girls (800m, 1500m); Ace Louis, Under-17 Boys (high jump); Shem Edward, (pole vault).
The team is coached by Claude Charlemagne and Yasmin Bishop and is under the management of Henry Bailey.
St Lucia’s trip to Bermuda was made possible through the generosity of the St Lucia Olympic Committee and the National Lotteries Authority. The Association sincerely appreciates their invaluable contribution in making this trip possible.

Jeannelle Scheper will compete in the Under-20 Girls high jump event.

In other related news members of the CARIFTA Swim Team who will compete in the Bahamas next week, were introduced on Tuesday at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre. The team consists of seven swimmers in the following age groups: Boys 11-12, Jhasi Daniel; Girls13-14, Thalia Bergasse; Boys 13-14, Anthony Francois; Boys 15-17, Jordan Augier, Joshua Runako Daniel, Jason Beaubrun and Christian Andrew.
The team is managed by Lily Bergasse and coached by Jamie Peterkin.

Lily Bergasse is one of seven swimmers on the CARIFTA Team.
