The War in Ukraine Must Stop says DCCA?

The Developing Christian Churches Association (DCCA) met on Monday 14th March and would like to make this statement about the war in Ukraine:

ukraine-russia war

The whole world is watching with a painful heart how Ukrainians are being killed and their homes being destroyed by the Russian army.

Ukraine was a free and independent nation of forty million people who decided to strengthen diplomatic ties with Europe. As a sovereign nation, Ukraine is fully entitled to do this.

This unprovoked invasion of Ukraine is unacceptable. All the nations of the world have overwhelmingly supported the resolution of the United Nations (U.N.) asking Russia to “immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all of its military forces from the territory of Ukraine.”

The Ukrainians who are being killed, and wounded are God’s children; our Heavenly Father loves them and feels pain. It makes God’s heart ache.

What about the Russian soldiers who are being killed and wounded in Ukraine?

They are also God’s beloved children. God loves them and His heart is aching for them too.

The war in Ukraine is causing great pain to God’s heart, so the WAR MUST STOP.

Jesus told us that “God makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust (Mat 5:45).

God also loves the unjust like Putin. God does not hate Putin; Putin is like the “Lost Sheep” in the “Good Shepherd” parable told by Jesus.
We believe God is speaking to Putin with the heart of a good and loving Father: “Please, my son stop killing my children.”  “My son, I know you can do better.” And so forth.

Parents love their children no matter what. If one child is rebellious and goes astray, his/her parents feel great pain in their hearts but never stop loving their child. Good parents cannot hate their rebellious child no matter what. Parents are like that because they are in the image of God. So we can be sure that God cannot hate His evil children.

God cannot force Peace in Ukraine. God cannot force Putin to change but He can work through our prayers and actions. We can unite with God’s love and send prayers of love for Putin rather than prayers of curse and malediction. This may touch his original mind and conscience and cause him to change or at least, it will diminish his resolve to kill God’s children.

  • Let us remember in our prayers that God’s heart is aching and pray for the WAR TO STOP.
  • Let us send prayers of love to Putin and his henchmen, rather than prayers of curse and malediction.
  • Let us pray for Ukrainians not to become bitter of the war and not to hate Russian soldiers
  • Let us pray that this war will not escalate and become a greater evil for the world.
  • Let us pray for the healing of all those who mourn the death of a loved one; whether Ukrainian or Russian.

Several international organisations like the Red Cross are collecting funds for humanitarian relief inside Ukraine and for its refugees. We can financially contribute to them.

THE WAR MUST STOP.
