Two men charged with attempted murder in Dennery brick attack; victim in stable condition

Two men have been charged in connection with the recent brutal attack on a man in Dennery. On Sunday May 10 at about 2:45 pm, officers attached to the Dennery police station responded to a report at Green Mountain, Dennery. At a press briefing today, May 18, Public Relations Officer of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, Acting Corporal Ann Joseph said that according to the information relayed to officers, a male had been attacked by two known suspects with bricks and rendered him unconscious. “The victim was conveyed to a medical facility for treatment. He is currently in stable condition,” she said.

“The suspects, we can say, have been charged as follows: Kieren Matthew alias ‘Pitbull” of Victoria Street, Dennery and Ike James alias “Parrot” of High Street, Dennery, have both been charged for the offence of non-capital attempted murder and damage to property,” she stated.

Joseph said it was later reported to the police about 6:30 pm on May 10, that the brother of the victim was assaulted with a cutlass in the village. “Ike James, has been charged with the offence of wounding in connection to that second incident,” said the Acting Corporal.
