Parent company of Courts, Unicomer Group, launched this corporate social responsibility initiative in 2016 throughout the Caribbean with the aim of using the skill and expertise of their employees to assist a nonprofit, non-governmental organization. Unicomer Group understands that it is the responsibility of all those who make up society to ensure sustainable development and it is in this sense that the group promotes the active participation of its employees in the development of communities across the island. Volunteer Week is executed in the 24 countries where the Group operates, involving more than 1,500 volunteers, who work in the construction of houses, revitalization of schools and public spaces, improving the lives of thousands of people and creating social value for the communities.

Courts is concerned for the development of the communities and their employees, and with these volunteer projects it manages to impact the lives of its public in a positive way. This is why the company is so pleased to carry out the second ever “Volunteer Week of activities” which seeks to improve the lives of thousands of people through different activities that will be taken on by Unicomer employees.

This year, The Crisis Centre was the non-profit organization selected by Courts St. Lucia as the institution to benefit from Volunteer Week 2017. The work done at the crisis centre included major infrastructural changes such as repainting inside and outside the structure, repairing of cupboards and the replacement of the external fascia boards of the building. Courts will also donate much needed furniture and appliances to the institution in an effort to create a more inviting atmosphere at the Crisis Centre.

The management and staff of Courts would like to extend sincere gratitude to the management and staff of the Crisis Centre, The Management and Staff of Carasco and Sons and our valued partners for their support of this initiative. The company would also like to extend gratitude to our employees who volunteered their time and skill in celebration of ‘Volunteer Week 2017”. Without your support, this initiative would not have been a success.
