Over the weekend Valley Soccer emerged winners of the Under 14 Division in 2012 ECFH-LUCELEC Summer Football Fiesta being played at the Sab Sporting Facility. Valley Soccer had gone unbeaten heading into the final fixture in the under 14 Division and required at least a draw with NYAH to take home the championship. Nicholas Brouet and Aazah Daniel’s strikes in the 10th and 23rd minutes respectively, gave the Orangemen a two goal lead going into the half. On the resumption, Aazah Daniel completed his brace and contributions from Turjard Stava and Avian Giraud gave the Orangemen a comfortable 5-0 win, in the process maintaining their unbeaten record throughout the summer and the Under 14 Championship. In the day’s opening game NYAH defeated FC Pioneers 3-2 in a very exciting Under 12 encounter. FC Pioneer behind a brace by Janei Lesmond raced to a two goal lead. However, three unanswered goals in the second half by Nyim Anderson, Shermoi Hippolitte and Hagi Monrose, gave NYAH a well- deserved come from behind victory. On Sunday in an Under 16 match up, FC Pioneers defeated NYAH 5-1. Jani Joseph’s strike in the 27th minute got FC Pioneers going, only for Orjan Suffren to pull one back immediately for NYAH. Ranijh Christopher’s strike in the 31st minute restored FC Pioneers’ lead heading into the half. On the resumption contributions from Ikiel Greenidge, Richard Annius and Alex Babylas gave FC Pioneers a 5-1 win, which placed them at the top of the table in the Under 16 division.
