The Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) yesterday via their Facebook page released the below to inform that the water supply for most of the island would be interupted as a result of repair works. Below are their notices.
North of the Island: Castries South to Cap Estate
Informed the public of scheduled maintenance works on the raw water line at the John Compton Dam. As a result customers receiving water from the John Compton Dam (JCD) in the north of the island from South Castries to Cap Estate, will experience an interruption in the water supply on Wednesday December 15th 2021 from 6 a.m.
Upon completion of the works, the supply of water will be restored, however, customers at higher elevations and at the further end of the system will experience delays. Consumers are advised to store water ahead of the outage period. WASCO regrets the inconvenience caused to our valued customers and we thank you for your patience.
South of the Island: Vieux Fort, Laborie
Residents of Vieux Fort and Laborie are asked to take note of an interruption in the water supply on Wednesday, 15 December 2021, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This interruption is necessary to facilitate the installation of equipment on sections of the water distribution system in Vieux Fort. Installation of this equipment will aid in the improvement of the supply to the Vieux Fort area, which is expected from early in 2022 with the commissioning of the new Grace Water Treatment Plant. The Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) Inc. wishes to apologize for any inconvenience that the interruption in the water supply may cause.
