A new brand of water has hit retail outlets across the country. The water—called H2O—is the newest in a line of wholesome, quality and value for money products being rolled out locally and in the Windward Islands by Winfresh.
The water was formally launched this week at the Derek Walcott Square. The event saw performances by some of Saint Lucia’s leading Soca Artistes, including Ambi, Mongstar and Ricky-T and DJ Scady. The company also revealed its H2O girls who will be a major part of its events calendar.
CEO of Winfresh, Bernard Cornibert, in his remarks noted that the introduction of H2O represents the delivery of a promise—to diversify the product range of the Winfresh Group to enable it to remain commercially relevant and to survive in an increasingly competitive market environment. He said, “Today marks another chapter in our diversification thrust into an exciting range of products centred round agro-processing”.
Cornibert explains that Winfresh and its line of products have a unique heritage in that they are owned by the Governments and people of Saint Lucia and the other Windward Islands’. “H2O Water and all the products we will be unveiling in the weeks and months ahead belong to us. They are owned by our Governments and people, they are produced here by our people and any surplus generated from them will be reinvested back here in our economies. So when you buy H2O Water or any other Winfresh products, you are helping our economies and yourself.  We are confident that our people will support these products not just for the positive impact on our economies but also for their highest standards of quality, their wholesomeness and value for money”.
In her address minister for Commerce, Business Development and Consumer Affairs Honourable Emma Hippolyte noted that launch of H20 water symbolizes a major breakthrough in governments thrust to realize full diversification of our economy from bananas to non-traditional crops, manufacturing, tourism and services. She reiterated her governments commitment in supporting the local Manufacturing Sector and the Agricultural Industry. She also had just a few words of advice for the local farming community
“… we need to continue to provide the necessary incentives and support to our farmers. We also need to create a new and enlightened culture within the farming community. We must create a new farmer who moves away from subsistence farming into a viable sustainable and professional business activity”.
H2O is produced under international food safety standards and is tested both locally and internationally to ensure that it conforms to the highest standards of quality. Winfresh intends for H2O to grow into leading brand of bottled water in Saint Lucia and the Windward Islands.
The name H2O was chosen for its distinctive character and representation of purity that will distinguish it from the rest and make it easy recognizable to the consuming public.
H20 water comes in four sizes: 4 litres, 1.5 litres, 650 ml and 350 ml to suit the conveniences of the consuming public.
H2O is produced by Sunfresh Limited, at Cul de Sac, St Lucia, a wholly subsidiary of Winfresh Limited.
