Woman under police protection

A well-known Saint Lucian female who recently described herself as a tourism worker is said to be receiving protection from local law enforcement. The woman who appeared on the HTS news this week, complained to reporters of receiving death threats following the discovery of the body of 22 year old Jamie Innocent. Innocent ,who resided at Morne Du Don, was found dead at Pigeon Island on April 9th, 2014. The woman, who disclosed that she was in a relationship with Innocent, said that she was scared for her life after receiving several calls and text messages from an unidentified individual or individuals. The STAR has also learnt that she is expecting her first child.

For several years now there have been calls for the authorities to put in place an effective witness protection program.

  • Time to bring back public hanging in the square, seems the only thing that dangerous criminals fear is their own death. Bring it back, it will be good for the economy.

  • I want to know why all of a sudden this woman has come forward to speak on this unfortunate matter? If Mr. Innocent had not been murdered would she have come forward? I highly doubt it. What the police need to do is find the monsters who did this, and hold them accountable for their actions. This "Tourism Worker" needs to be quiet, seeing is how she is in the witness protection. Further more why would the police be protecting her? Is there more to this story than her and the police are saying? I think there is. Let's not forget a life was taken & that should be the main focus at hand. RIP Jamie
