Police reports are that on Saturday 14th May, 2011, about 3:26am, a car driven by 26-year-old Shane Nicholas of Marigot, along with three passengers on board was travelling from Gros Islet, when the vehicle ran off the road and collided into the railing of the Bois D’Orange Bridge.
The driver, Shane Nicholas, sustained minor injuries; he was treated and discharged from the Victoria Hospital the same day. 23-year old Lea John of Marchand and 23-year old David Auguste of cedars, Castries, were the back seat passengers and they sustained injuries to the legs and shoulders. Both are presently admitted at the Victoria Hospital.
However, 29-year-old, Deltus Gilbert of Marigot sustained injuries to his upper body and succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A Post Mortem examination will be performed at a later date.
