St Lucia’s amateur boxers performed very well at a pro am boxing card held in Antigua and Barbuda Saturday evening.
The three St Lucian amateur boxers who made trip to Antigua were lightweight Dalton “The Hurricane” George, middleweight Arthur Langilier and light heavyweight Julian Agiou who all won their fights quite comfortably.
St Lucia also had middleweight boxer Patrick Wilson on the pro section on the pro am card. Wilson who was making his pro debut started out strong. He knocked down his Antiguan opponent in the first round. However in the second round, Wilson complained about having a breathing problem and as result could not continue.
The event was held at the Sugar Ridge Hotel in Antigua which is just under a year old. Boxers from St Marteen, Dominica, St Lucia and the host country Antigua and Barbuda took part.
