On the occasion of the 15-year anniversary of UNESCO’s inclusion of the iconic Saint Lucian Pitons to the list of World Heritage Sites, Mexico joins the Piton Management Area to celebrate the importance that both countries attach to their cultural and natural heritage.
These outstanding volcanic twin peaks, Gros Piton and Petit Piton, make up the most recognizable symbol of the island and its beautiful landscape, and they are one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world.
To join in the celebration of this anniversary for Saint Lucia, the Embassy of Mexico, in collaboration with the Piton Management Area, is organizing a photographic exhibition on Wednesday, July 31, at the Excelsior Plaza in Soufriere, from 9:00am at 4:00pm. The exhibition has two sections, one that shows historic architectural buildings and picturesque landscapes from five cities in Mexico, recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage sites, while the other includes a variety of picturesque images of the Pitons and surrounding areas.
This exhibition is an important demonstration of the distinctive and tangible heritage of both countries and the mutual commitment to preserve and promote their heritage.
The public is invited to attend this exhibition, in celebration of this important milestone for Saint Lucia, and to admire the heritage of Mexico.
